Our First Fundraising Capacity Building Workshop

Southwark Charities was delighted to work again with local charity consultancy Sharp Raiser, who delivered a one-day fundraising capacity building training workshop for some of the smallest and newest community organisations, providing services to Southwark older people, in our cohort on Saturday 10 October 2026 at Camberwell Library. The organisations frequently struggle with applying to external funders including those that do not provide pre-application support.

Sharpraiser worked 1:1 with participants in English and in Spanish and enabled thems to develop their ideas and work directly on live funding applications. By the end of the day, seven organisations had progressed a funding application and left with a draft application that they could refine and submit.

As well as reviewing projects, funding and impact, there were opportunities for the organisations to share experiences and make further connections with Sharp Raiser, Southwark Charities and Community Southwark who presented its services available.
