Cris Claridge - Older Volunteer of the Year 2026

Many congratulations to Cris Claridge, winner of the Southwark Stars Older Volunteer of the Year award for 2026. Cris’ vision enabled the establishment of The Green Community Centre in Nunhead and she has led The Ivy Club for local older people that meets weekly at The Green providing friendships and connections. Her award was presented by our Grants Committee Co-Chair, Ruth Clapton, at the Southwark Stars ceremony at Glaziers Hall on 5 June 2026.

Congratulations also, to Chalice Richardson who won the Keib Thomas Active Citizen Award for his leadership of the Draper Together charity that provides multiple community activities in Elephant & Castle including weekly warm hub and bingo for local older people; and to all the other Southwark Stars winners for their awards.

Southwark Charities has contributed funding to the annual Southwark Stars awards ceremony since 2023.
