We currently operate a waiting list. As we undergo the redevelopment of Edward Edward’s house, our housing stock is limited to one site. We currently have limited opportunities for providing housing and are pausing new applications. We are reviewing the application process for Edward Edward’s house and are not currently accepting applications.  Please check back in 2027 for details of how to apply.

St Mary Newington is scheduled to close for redevelopment in 2028. All residents will be moved to Edward Edward’s House, SE1.

Please consider this if you are thinking of applying for residency.

Qualifications for residence

• • You are aged 55 or over & can provide photo ID
  • You have been living in Southwark for at least the past 5 years
  • Have limited income 
  • Are capable of living independently
  • Have savings, investments or assets of less than £16,000
  • Do not or haven’t owned your own home in the UK or abroad within 5 years

Application forms are currently suspended until 2027.  If you have an urgent need for housing please contact your local authority
