Tenderground Arts - launch website

Since 2022 Southwark Charities have been working with artists and curators Clare Cumberlidge and Laura Wilson to develop a programme of art activities.  We are currently reviewing the programme but in the meantime you can see what the project achievedin its pilot phase and meet some of the artists we have worked with.

The project was set up to help manage our residents moving from Edward Edward’s house and to help maintain their community and communication during the change.  We explored how friendships are made through a song and dance project as well as ensured we captured the last days of Edward Edward’s house through a moving and intimate film.

One piece of artwork you can still see is around the Edward Edward’s site on Nicholson St. Artist Jenny Adam shared her sketch book with us and her drawings now cover the hoardings around our developing site. Jenny was a resident and enjoyed seeing and capturing the changes she could see from her window.

The project also set a template for our successful artist in residence scheme.
